Five years ago, the COVID pandemic began—an event that, for many, is now a thing of the past. But behind the statistics are people and stories that should not be forgotten. That’s why I set out to create a lasting memorial by adding the data of 1,000 American COVID victims to Wikidata. This project demonstrates how data can help document lives and reveal connections—from birthplaces to occupations, from family relationships to final resting places.

At Wikimania 2024, I collaborated with fellow Wikipedians, including Rev. Cary Bass-Deschênes and Josh Lim, to tackle a long-standing issue: the lack of freely licensed photos for Catholic archbishops on Wikipedia. Using ChatGPT and SPARQL, we refined a query to identify how many archbishops with Wikipedia articles still lack images.
